No Love Before Its Time29 de junio de 2013
Elizabeth and Michael. For four years in college they secretly admired one another from a distance. They had so many friends in common. They moved in the same social circles.
Early on he had noticed her fire and spunk, her delicate dark-haired beauty and a certain freedom and self-assurance with which she moved through the world. She seemed to him an original in a place where people had quite a conservative vision of what a woman should look like. She had noticed him too, as, it must be said, had every single one of her girlfriends. Tall, dark and handsome in the very best way, confident and friendly, Michael was all the buzz. But there was always either another boyfriend or girlfriend; both presumed the other would not be interested; the timing was never fortuitous.
During that freshman year, all of Elizabeth’s girlfriends "friended" Michael on Facebook, as did she. He happily accepted every single request…except hers. Again and again over the years she tried, but he never made the connection. And then, one of Elizabeth’s closest friends, sensing how similar Elizabeth and Michael were and deciding that something simply had to be done, literally pushed them together at a party just two days before graduation. Instantly, they fell madly in love.
Together they moved to New York. And a year later, after a proposal in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, they were married in Provence, with the mistral winds singing through the plane trees. Their moment had finally arrived.
